Dance Director: Sandhya Desai
Smt. Sandhya Desai, a senior disciple of Smt.
Kumudini Lakhia and a virtuoso Kathak dancer, has thrilled audiences
around the globe by her dance performances and choreography. In 1997
she was awarded by the Gujrat State Sangeet Natak Academy for her
outstanding contribution in the field of Indian classical dance
(Kathak). Furthermore, she has been a senior instructor of Kathak at
the Kadamb Center for Dance and Music in Ahmedabad,
India.

Prashant Shah
Prashant Shah has
proven to be a dancer of exceptional qualities. His style is
dynamic, crisp, precise, and he has tremendous control over rhythm.
He is efficient in the rendering of "laya", the rhythmic structure
of Kathak, thus bringing a joyous quality to his performance. He is
a member of the Kadamb Performing Group and has performed at
international events as a solo dancer.

Faculty: Rachna Ramya Agrawal
A renowned dancer from
India, Rachna Ramya Agrawal has studied the Lucknow style of Kathak
under Smt. Maya Rao, and the Jaipur style of Kathak under Shri
Rajendra Gangani. Specializing both in mime and footwork, Rachna has
won numerous awards, including a gold medal from the Prayag Sangeet
Samiti and the 1994-1995 apprenticeship award by the New England
Foundation for the Arts.

Kiran Chouhan
Ms.
Chouhan is an internationally known artist who has spent over 20
years studying, teaching and performing Kathak under the direction
of the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj.
Ms. Chouhan has shown her talents not only as a dancer but
also as a choreographer. In
addition to numerous performances in India,
Ms. Chouhan has performed in China, Russia, Kenya, France,
Germany, U.K. and the United States.

Music Director: Atul
Desai
Shri Atul Desai, an eminent musician of
Gujrat, was trained in Hindustani vocal music by Pt. Omkarnath
Thakur. Endowed with a melodious voice, he is an "A" grade artist of
All India Radio and has performed in the USA and Europe. He has
composed music for all of Kadamb's dance presentations for the
Bhartiya Kala Kendra in New Delhi. He is a recipient of the
Presidential Award for his contribution to classical and innovative
music. |

Tabla: Ramesh
Bapodara
Ramesh Bapodara, disciple of Shri Sudhir
Kumar Saxena of the Ajrada Gharana school of tabla and son of the
famous Haveli Sangeet singer, Shri Vithaldas Bapodara, is a
recipient of the "Taal Mani" Award by Sur Singar Sansad of Bombay.
In addition he graduated with a degree in music from the M.S.
University in Vadodara. He has accompanied various vocalists,
instrumental musicians and Kathak dancers and has given performances
all over the world.
